When Motherhood Feels Too Hard

Help for the Burned Out Mom

Are you tired? Do you ever feel like giving up, but you know that isn’t an option? Do you need real help?

I remember well the utter feeling of helplessness a few years ago, as I sat in my kitchen. I felt like I had nothing left in me to be a mother, which compounded the heavy reality that I was a mother, of ten children no less, and I didn’t have the option of just giving up.

I have no doubt this book was born out of that desperation as the Lord used my own words to pull me up out of the pit of despair, into His glorious plan for my life as a mother. And you can join thousands of other women who have told me the same thing.

“There is no hint in this book of the kind of “woe-is-me” mothering that is so destructive to the joy that can be found in motherhood, and I love Kelly for that! Seriously, I want to hug her neck for not descending into the self-pity to which it is all too easy for young mothers to succumb. ” –Cindy Dyer, Get Along Home

“This eBook is Kelly’s “cup of cold water” to mothers. We all need refreshment and encouragement when the hard days come, and Kelly has provided bite-sized (but meaty and thought-provoking) daily devotionals that urge us to take our calling as mothers seriously but remember at the same time that we are vessels of clay in need of God’s filling. These words are true whether you are the mother of one or the mother of ten! Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your beautiful insights into the calling of motherhood “from the trenches!” -Jennie Chancey

Kelly comes alongside mothers with her amazing ability to relate, and shares truths, quotes, stories, and LOVE to help make the journey a little less lonely.” -Natalie Klejwa, Visionary Womanhood

What others are saying:

“This book is going to be living on my kitchen counter. I too could not put it down. Though it is in perfect length and format to use as a devotional. I so appreciate the Godly profound perspective that the author communicates in this book. It speaks directly to the weary soul. I wasn’t even feeling like motherhood was too hard when I read this book. However, her words will change the way I parent. I pray that it will continue to be used to bring out more fruit of the Spirit in my mothering. I intend to keep the book close until these concepts are written on my heart and become my natural responses (as much as humanly possible). The author has managed to illustrate how even the most repetitious and mundane parts of motherhood are so valuable and important. Everything presented is scripturally based. It is all written in such an encouraging, fresh way. I intend to buy my closest friends a copy. Everyone can benefit from this book. -Faith

“I just finished your book devotional for mothers. It was amazing! It helped me so much, I cant even begin to tell you. You are so inspiring!!” -Ashley

“From perusing the first few chapters I can see that you have chosen not to just pad out your book with inspirational quotes or flowery language about motherhood but you give practical everyday advice – what to do now in the midst of days that could otherwise overwhelm us and that I believe is what will help mothers the most.” -Ann

“I was feeling so helpless this morning when I saw your book…it was exactly what I needed!” -Carrie

I have been thanking God for you ever since day two!! After home schooling for over 14 years, sometimes we need to be reminded of the importance of the job God has given.

May I just say, You have touched more than my mind but my heart as I am reminded of the importance of this “never ending job”. That is what my children say… you never rest mom. Well maybe not while their awake, but I do rest before my Lord… every morning (most mornings).

    Thank You,
    Elaine Gaumer mother of 6 (20, 13, 11, 8, 6, 3)

  6. Sharon says:

I would love to receive this giveaway. I am homeschooling a first-grader this year, while caring for a 4-year-old preschooler, and grieving the loss of a pregnancy in November that I would 5 months along with had I not miscarried. Some days it’s overwhelming! Trying to keep my chin above the waves!

  7. Chris says:

Giveaway: A friend sent this link to me the other day and I finally had a moment to sit and read. It was difficult to see the words as the tears flowed down my cheeks. It was as if God himself had reached down and touched me with those words. I am a first-year homeschool mom of 6, 5 of whom I teach, and I know this is exactly where God wants me right now, but many days are filled with tears. This week was especially challenging with my 2 jr. highers so this came at just the right time. My desire is to teach my children to love the Lord and give Him their heart, but it seems my “tank” is running low. I could use some encouragement in this area. God bless you as you serve Him and minister to so many moms who are struggling.
